History: On July 6, 1863 James S. Taylor and Sally Taylor deeded a tract of land "for the purpose of a burying ground, containing one-half acre". They conveyed it out "except the right in common to bury within said premises the dead of our own family, and the family of relatives, which are the benefits as above alluded to as accuring to the said party of the first part". The signatures were witnessed by John Wilson and Sally Taylor signed with her mark, an "X". The deed was recorded 16 Feb 1888, Book 80, page 397 (Sangamon County Courthouse, Springfield, Illinois).
