Search Saint Peters Catholic Cemetery (Defunct):

Saint Peters Parish was formed from Saint Patricks Parish. The first church was built in 1821. A second was built in 1889 on the corner of 2nd Street SE and C Street SE. After that building was destroyed by fire in 1940, it was rebuilt and stands as the current church. A city block bounded by 4th Street SE, 5th Street SE, H Street SE, and I Street SE was donated to the parish for use as a cemetery by Mr. Nicholas Young. When it ceased to be used as a cemetery, the title reverted back to the Young family, who again donated the land to the parish.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) feature ID for the cemetery is 529998 (Saint Peters Catholic Cemetery).
