The Nasareth Cemetery is sometimes referred to as the Vanville Cemetery.

The Nazareth Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Lutheran Congregation was organized on August 14, 1904, by a group of predominantly Norwegian emigrants. In 1905, Thomas Martinson, son of Harry & Sina Martinson, died from complications of a broken arm,when he fell off the roof of while building their new home. The Martinson's buried him in the corner of their homestead and then donated the land for the Congregation'scemetery. Unfortunately the deed was never filed at the Register of Deeds Office and the Congregation was forced in 1935 to pay the then owner for the land when their relatives were buried. The congregations met first in homes and later in schoolhouses (a church was never constructed). Members held services until 1942, when due to decline of membership the congregation disbanded and transferred their membership to other churches.
