Ruth Mayer, 101, of Denver, Colorado, and formerly of Guymon, died June 26, 2007.
The daughter of Celia Anna (Bever) and Jacob Rode, she was born Oct. 27, 1905, in Denver. She was married to Robert Karl (Bob) Mayer on April 15, 1922, in Denver. The Mayers moved to Guymon in 1963 where they were involved in the cattle business. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Guymon. Mrs. Mayer moved back to Denver in 1994.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Mayer; a son, John Mayer; and a grandson, Karl Alan Mayer.
Survivors include a son, Charles Mayer and wife, Rhonnie of Dumas, Texas; a daughter, Roberta Curtis of Denver; daughter-in-law, Gwen Mayer of Guymon; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, July 2, at 10 a.m. at Elmhurst Cemetery with Rev. Odie Nunley officiating. There will be viewing at the funeral home at 9 a.m. Monday morning at Henson-Novak funeral Directors, 5th and James in Guymon.
