A Virtual Cemetery created by Jane Seamons

My Favorites

This cemetery was refound after years of being left to nature. It took Horace Bouchillon a grandson of Joseph and Sarah Williams and myself a 2nd great grand daughter to find. There was no road or identifying makers. There was no headstone for Sarah. Lucky for us Horace found this little old cemetery by faulty memory and a good sense of direction. He was in his seventies and I in my forties when we went trapsing through the woods and under brush. He was emotional because he remembered an older brother once telling him a descendant of theirs would come asking for family history on these two and he wouldn't be able to give it to them because he wasn't paying attention to what this older brother was trying to pass down as far as history and dates and names. Horace was crying as he told me this. He had forgotten this lecture until that very moment telling me. He said with tears running down his cheeks "Jane you are that descendant my brother was tellling me about and I can only remember so little. But I will tell you what I do remember". Horace is the one responsible for the new headstone for both. I was able to get it put on the state registry and forward the information to the military archives to put on their website. Thank you Horace for showing the state how to get there and have them put in a road. We love you
