Harriet B. Cash was a daughter of John Speer Darsey and Nancy Johnson of Sunny Side, Georgia. Her first husband was James S. Johnson, who died as a result of the Civil War.Harriet and James had a daughter named Georgia. T. J. Cash was her second husband.Harriet was the sister of George M. T. Darsey, who also lost his life in the Civil War. Inthe mid-1870s, Harriet and Thomas J. Cash brought her nephew, George Edward Darseyto Texas, where he became a founding father of the town of Grapeland.
