Daughdrill Cemetery

This Cemetery is virtually abandoned. It is grown up in brush, briars and small saplings to large trees. My Friend Billy Frank Brown knew it's approximate location, having been there in 1987. At that time he said there were many graves with wood markers, which have now disappeared. He went with me on January 29, 2013, but the Cemetery was nearly impossible to find since it is within a grown up area of brush, saplings and trees. We had to seek help from a local farmer, a Mr. Smith. We could only identify 12 Graves There are markers on many more but no names. Judging by the impressions there are probably 50 or more with no markers. In 1994/96 a Local 4H Club apparently took the Daughdrill Cemetery as a Project, cleaned it up and put a Chain Link Fence around it. Even the fence is not visable from a distance. By L. B.
