James Buchanan Reed, Jr. (1915-1941) was the son of J. B. and Ethel Mason Reed and was Titus County's first casualty in World War II, dying at Pearl Harbor. Reed enlisted in the Navy in 1936 and was stationed on the U. S. S. Arizona. Survived by his parents, wife, and one child.
