Bio

Probably the largest collection of modern photographs of historic locations in Mauritius. This includes thousands of images of cemeteries and graves.

I have amassed over 200,000 images of historic sites in Mauritius including most of the cemeteries in Mauritius. This also includes hundreds of albums of individual graves, tombs and memorials. I would only usually create an album of a grave if the grave has historic significance or is distinctive in some manner. These are links to some of my Flickr.com collections, the first link would usually also contain the albums in the other collections where appropriate:

Many of the historic graves in Mauritius are cut from basalt which over time, can make them difficult to read. To ensure there is a record of the inscription, I use washed, coral sand to highlight the text. Permission is sought from the cemetery management beforehand, and the next rainfall removes all traces.

Most of these images are released under a non-commercial, Creative Commons license however, the universal currency of coffee is always appreciated.
