Bio

Please remember this is find a GRAVE, not find what an obit says, or coming soon to a cemetery near you. People come to cemeteries to find graves that Find A Grave says are there, they often travel aways to pay their respects to old friends, neighbors, service buddies, and become very upset to find they have made the trip for nothing.

To be interred in a National Cemetery you have to not only prove you were in the military, you have to qualify. You must have active service hours. ROTC, Nat Guard, Reserves and military school attendees are often not allowed burial. There are no family plots, just spouses and dependent children are allowed. You have to apply, and have the correct supporting discharge documents, many families just don't bother to do this. So, even if their obit states they will be buried there, many are not. So many find out after a loved one has died that a discharge was less than honorable. Also many have memorial services at the National Cemetery and are not interred there.
