Bio

I have always been interested in history and have passed that gene on to my kids, apparently, because they love it, too. I have had a passion for genealogy, as well, since my mother was an avid genealogist for over 40 years, dragging me to genealogical libraries and cemeteries all over the South since I was a little girl. Before I could read, I was able to find markers just from recognizing the letters in the names. "Ferguson, mommy, Ferguson," I would call out, and she'd come running to see what I had found!

On my mother's side, I'm looking for the following family lines, among others. Most of these families came to America through the Carolinas and made their way south, southwest, and eventually west into Texas.
AUSTIN, MEEKS, FERGUSON, CRAWFORD, ROSE, TURNER, LISENBY, HEMPHILL, SCOTT, FOSTER, HOOKS, McBROOM, TARVER, COOPER, COBURN, KELLER, VARDAMAN, McMAHAN, LAWSON, McCLELLAND, COLLIER, RICE/RISER, DEEN, (Frances/Fanny) SMITH.

On my father's side, I'm looking for the following family lines, among others. These families are from Russia, France, and Greece, but a few descendants are in the U.S.
GOUTCHKOFF, ZAROKILLI, BOTKIN, NAUMOFF, VACQUIER, EGOROFF, EVDOKIMOFF.

Please send a message to me if you think we might have common ancestors. It's always fun to find a cousin!
