Bio

James Alfred Brien , my great-grand Uncle settled on this prairie in 1846 as the son-in-law of William Rice. After the death of his wife M E Rice in 1852 he married my great grand aunt Susan Elizabeth Williams, daughter of Elizabeth Fullbright (Vollbrechet) Williams Cooper. They are buried nearby in the family graveyard.
So I guess you could say that "we came here in 1846 and haven't had sense enough to leave."

Mary Jane McKeehan Patton is my 4 great grandmother on my fathers side. She was know in history as Gunpowder Mary.
On my mother's side Thomas Jefferson Linton, my 2x great grandfather headed a cattle drive of 600 head from Dover, Arkansas to the San Joaquin valley of California in the spring and summer of 1857.
