GREEN-WOOD NAMING CONVENTIONS
I'm local to Green-Wood and plan to photograph entire sections of the cemetery row by row in my free time. It's very helpful to me if the Plot Information on grave profiles is consistent so that I can sort by Plot and navigate lists of graves effectively, especially in sections of the cemetery where many graves do not have markers.

To that end, here are the naming conventions I use:
Section [#], Lot [#], Grave [#]
[Mausoleum name], [Crypt/Niche] [#}
Tranquility Garden, Niche [#]
Urn Garden, [#]

- I'll leave off the grave number if it's a private lot to avoid clutter.
- I don't include public vs private lot for the same reason.
- Including the words "Section" "Lot" and "Grave" helps to make searches more accurate. (e.g., if I'm interested in Section 127, but search 127, results will include all of the lots and graves which happen to include 127 -- many of which aren't in Section 127. Being able to search "Section 127" solves that issue.)
- Spelling out words avoids inconsistent abbreviations between different researchers, which mess up FindAGrave's sort by Plot results.

Thanks in advance for accepting edits if I've suggested to Plot information, even if the suggested changes are not substantive.

ACCEPTING EDITS I SUGGEST TO PLOT INFORMATION HELPS ME TO PHOTOGRAPH THE CEMETERY EFFECTIVELY. Even if your graves are already photographed, those photographs help me navigate when I'm in the field.

MEMORIAL TRANSFER REQUESTS
I'm not related to any of the Green-Wood Cemetery memorials that I manage. I'm happy to transfer management to any relatives or researchers; just message me.

SPECIAL PHOTO REQUESTS
I'm happy to entertain requests for specific grave photographs. I don't usually pay attention to the formal photo requests, focusing instead on documenting the entirety of specific sections. If you have an urgent research need, though, I'm happy to make an extra effort to help you if I can.

Similarly, I'm happy to retake photos where my photo has been suboptimal. Often I don't realize there's an issue with a photo until I'm in the process of uploading, at which point I reason that some photo is better than nothing.

ABOUT ME
I'm in my late 20s and not originally from the east coast. I became interested in documenting graveyards via my interest in genealogical research. I'm passionate about history and making resources accessible to everyone.
