Born in New Hampshire but moved to Texas as a child. Went into electrical engineering, studied law and did graduate work in management. Gained a passion for sailing along the way. Worked in high tech for over 30 years. Company moved us around before ending up in San Diego. In 2001 to 2008, sailed 7 years across the Pacific from San Diego to Australia. Upon returning, invested in a biotech company and became its Chairman & CEO. Left to co-found a venture science company evaluating the success of start-up companies and investing in the highest scoring ones based on an automated assessor using artificial intelligence and machine learning. Now living in La Jolla, CA and occasionally dabbling in genealogy.
