Bio

I am 53 years old. I have always been interested in my family and roots and where we came from. It has not been easy since being adopted when I was a baby. But it has been done none the less.

I am a devoted mom to my 4 living children, and miss dearly my 3 sons that have gone on before me. I am encouraged by knowing that the 2 infants and my grown son are all waiting in Heaven with Jesus now. I would not bring them back if I could.

I am a born again believer in Jesus Christ. I was raised at Sharon Baptist Church in Winnsboro, TExas where my father was the pastor. I am now involved with a street ministry in Tyler,Texas called Hope on the Streets. Where we share the good news of Jesus Christ every Monday night and feed the homeless in our area. I play the keyboard and am a part of the "elders" prayer team. It has been my pleasure in life to have the opportunity to bring about 125 people to Jesus Christ. I hope that the number keeps growing.

I am a retired RN became disabled about 6 years ago now, from a stroke. But God has brought me through and I am still recovering and getting better every day.

I hope that one day my children will follow and live devoted lives to Jesus. That they will walk out of their comfort zones and go where others do not want to go.

I have four living children Nicholas, 32; Amber is 28; Michael is 26; and Isaiah is 12. I have acquired a son Daniel who is 13. He lost his mom about 4 years ago now, and I am blessed to be able to fill that hole for him. I have 3 sons who have gone on. Marcos was 23 died in 2009,
Caaleb was a newborn He had trisomy 19 died in 2005. Elisha was a newborn had Trisomy 17 died in 2007. I know that all my boys are with Jesus. I may miss them, but they are better than I am.

I have been able to trace my Cherokee ancestry through my fathers side of the family.... the Brights. I was able to find my Grandfather Samuel's registration number from 1897. He was a full Cherokee and registered in Oklahoma. So I guess that brings me to almost half. My birth mother Carolyn Black Bright was 50% Cherokee as well. I have applied for my tribal registration for me and my youngest son Isaiah. Will see what happens.

My favorite pass times are listening to Gospel Music. My favorites are the Cathedral Quartet, and the Rambos. I love to crochet, play my piano or guitar and Serve the Lord.

I received my Doctorate in Divinity this year. So far, I can't get anyone to call me Doc. They just keep calling me Ms. Kitty. Yes I have 7 cats. I run a non profit called Purrfectly Pawesome. I rescue shelter and rehome felines.

I have also opened the doors of my home to start a ministry called A Hand Up. I will take in a person needing shelter and help them to find a job, get ID, and grow in faith. I right now have 2 people staying in A Hand UP, and 12 kittens almost ready to rehome in April.

I am loving life, and Loving Jesus, and happy to be blessed with each new day that He gives.
