I have been doing genealogy since 1994 when I went to the Petersburg, Pike County, Public library and were able to find history on various family members. My dad's parents, Herman (1932-2022) and Doris (1933-2022) Hughes Bass were born and raised in Pike County but moved to Evansville as adults. My mom's dad, James Edwin Cole (1915-2009) was born in Indianapolis but mostly raised in Evansville or the surrounding areas. My grandmother Eloise Heseman Cole (1924-2023) lived in Evansville her entire life.
