Bio

My name is Helen Amanda Carr Myers (Mandy). My contributions are mainly tied to this one Cemetery. Although, I Will contribute what I have and know for those buried elsewhere. My parents are Thomas Michael Carr 1949-1990 of Johnson City, TN and Linda Corby Carr 1951-2019 of Johnson City, Tennessee. My mother died in Santee, South Carolina. My brother is Michael Jason Carr 1978-2005 of Johnson City, TN. I am related to many people buried at the Philadelphia Cemetery located in Limestone, TN. My mother's s family are the Corby's, which were all from Limestone, TN. She was also related to the Berryhill's of Cooke Co. TN and the Porters in Easley, SC. I was born 1987, in Greeneville, TN. I have lived in South Carolina for 29 years. I became a member to learn more about my families history and add family photos I have of my late mother's. Many of these relatives were deceased prior to my birth. I only personally knew 3 of my great- uncle/aunts on the Corby side. Mostly, I just have the stories my mother and aunt has shared with me and the photos to contribute. This website has helped me learn about many of them and trace my ancestors. I have several family pictures of the Corby family and I wanted to share them for others to enjoy. My Great-Grandparents were Oza and Sallie Collette Corby. Oza had a prior marriage and children with Elizabeth Corby, which passed away in her 20's. My grandfather, Linn Corby had numerous siblings with some being half siblings. My grandparents were Linn And Helen Porter Corby. All buried in Limestone, TN at Philadelphia Cemetery. Many of those were Oza and Sallie Corby's children and great-grandchildren, my brother being their only Great Great- grandson buried at Philadelphia Cemetery, that I have discovered at the present. Along with my father and brother on the Carr side, my uncle Jerry E. Carr are the only Carr's I'm related to at this cemetery. Please feel free to message me with any questions or request you may have. If you have any military records or information on any of the Corby's or their relatives, please share. If you knew any of them personally, I would love to hear something about them! Several, fought in war and I have very little information on that. I would love anything someone may be able to share! I hope my inherited treasures of family pictures I share are enjoyed by others, as much as I have enjoyed them!
