Born 7/22/1952 to Donald J and Jane T. Mauter nee Rumpf at Toledo, OH. Grew up in Mentor, OH. Graduated from Mentor High School in 1970 and earned a BBA degree from Kent State University i n1977.

Began career after high school working as a seaman on ore freighters for various Great Lakes shipping companies. Also worked at a lab technician for Diamond Shamrock. After graduating from college worked in the Traffic Department at B.F. Goodrich, Akron , OH. Began my railroad career at the AT&SF Railway Co in Westlake, OH in 1982 and retired in 2017 from BNSF Railway Co. , Ft. Worth, TX after 25 years of service. After retirement I was appointed to the Tarrant County Appraisal Review Board.

I am an avid golfer and active in the Knights of Columbus. Founder and President of the BNSF Golf League for 22 years.

Wife Barbara, daughter Laura Rameriz ( Jonathon, granddaughter Emma. Brothers are John ( Lynn) and James (Bridget) . Sisters are Marcia Stumpe and Mary K Carter ( Scott)
