Bio

I became interested in Family History around 1965, I was quite young but had a yearning to find who my family was and where they came from.
Mostly it was asking a Aunt or Uncle and trying to remember, when I was older I started a family tree on paper.
At the time there were no computers, no internet, email, just lots of pages of writing names and dates down, numerous letters to Funeral Homes, Churches and hours upon hours of microfilm.
I was able to travel to Salt Lake and utilize the LDS Library, the vaults were permanently closed.
One side of my family worked the mines, no one really wanted to talk, it was very frustrating and difficult.
The other side traveled a lot and resided in many places, they were the first settlers in Great Falls MT.
Many served during wartime and records were lost.
I did okay though, I submitted over 16k family members and documented them on Ancestry.
My Ancestry trees are locked to the public, too many people were assuming that my family was related to theirs and would add them without doing the research.
If you think your related feel free to send me a message.
I wish everyone good luck and stay humble, it's important...
