Bio

Hello, I am picking up on family research started by my grandfather, Theodore Robert Leonard (1928-2001), who grew up in Los Angeles where I now live.

My fourth great-grandfather, Alfred F. Leonard, was born in Staines, England before immigrating to New York with his father Samuel and brother John Eugene Leonard. Alfred's son, my third great-grandfather Edward L. Leonard, was born in Fort Plain, New York but grew up in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, where the Leonards arrived in 1849. Edward was a Civil War veteran of the 19th Wisconsin Infantry, Co A. After the war he raised his sons Fred, Ernest, Bernard, Floyd and Claude in Windom, Minnesota. The family scattered west from there, but Edward was buried back in Reedsburg, next to his son Frankie L. and grandmother Mary E. Leonard.

Ed's son Fred Leonard - my great-great grandfather - moved his family from Lakefield, Minnesota to Grangeville, Idaho and Missoula, Montana before ending up in Long Beach, California. His son, Ted Leonard (my great-grandfather) married in Los Angeles, where my grandfather Bob Leonard was born in 1928.

I am very interested in communicating with anyone connected or interested in these folks!
