Bio

I am an adoptee documenting my adoptive and biological families.

ADOPTIVE FAMILY -- I was born in Rockford, IL, grew up in Rochelle, IL; adopted in 1957. My father's side lived mostly in Ogle County, IL, immigrating to the US from Germany. Adoptive paternal surnames include: Bontjes, Reeverts, Sherfield, Cirksena, Royer, Roos, Krahenbuhl, Burchett, Rainwater, Vogeler, Seebach. My mother's family lived in Cheatham County, TN, and surrounding areas, including Nashville. Adoptive maternal surnames include: Hooper, Hosale/Hosay, Green, Tomlinson.

BIOLOGICAL FAMILY -- My biological mother, Maria, was born in Laredo, TX, and lived in Rockford/Roscoe, IL area; her parents and grandparents were from Nuevo León, Mexico. My biological father, Richard, was from Rockford, IL.

I mostly manage memorials for members of my biological and adoptive families, my husband's family (Braden, Morris, Rutherford, Wentworth), plus a few friends. I am happy to share any info I have with others.

"It's been said that you die twice--once when you take your final breath, and again when someone says your name for the last time. I hope I manage to keep some beloved members of my family alive for a good while longer." -- John Ficarra, former editor of Mad magazine
