In the process of working on my family genealogies, I started visiting, cleaning, and photographing my ancestors' graves. I mostly work on family graves in southeastern CT and Rockport, MA. I follow the Cemetery Conservators for United Standards recommendations for grave cleaning and firmly adhere to a do no harm approach with the intent of preserving the stone for future generations. I only clean family graves that I have confirmed through genealogical research and documentation, unless I have received special permission. I am also the secretary for the Gales Ferry Cemetery Association.
