Our mission is to inspire interest and support in historic preservation, education and patriotism.
Members of Abigail Phelps Chapter are a diverse group of women from all walks of life. We are all brought together by our wish to honor our ancestors, our pride in our country and our willingness to serve our communities.
Abigail Phelps Chapter is part of the Connecticut Daughters of the American Revolution (CTDAR) and are members of the NSDAR. The DAR is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization, dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children. Our common bond is our lineal descent from patriots of the American Revolution.
MEMBERSHIP
Any woman 18 years or older may join the DAR by documenting her lineage to a direct ancestor, either male or female, who aided in the cause of American Independence through military, civil or patriotic service. For more information on becoming a member, go to dar.org/national-society/become-member
