Bio

My Name is Bob Robbins, (I am also, FAG contributor #40093631), I have been working on and off for the last 45-yr. on my family Genealogy. Most of my information is from direct family members, published information, cemetery records and Courthouse Records and of course, Find A Grave.com.
I work in the home improvement/remodeling/handyman industry. I am self employed. So I work on my family history when I have free time. (which is sporadic) So if there are any questions you may have for me. It may be several weeks, sometimes months before you will get a reply back from me. I apologize for the inconvenience.

However, 19+ years ago I had opened an account and contributed 47-memorials. It was in 2001 that my life became quite hectic in divorce, moving out of state, loosing my parents, re-marrying and going into business for myself. In the process changing email addresses. Now that I have time to delve into my genealogy again, I had totally forgotten I was ever on Find A Graves Website years ago. So I had opened another account. This time with a different email address. When I came across my relations and tried to update them, I found that I was waiting on myself. Having totally forgotten old email addresses from the past, I had no way to gain access to my old account.

It seems as though Find A Grave thinks they are a top secret web site.

My request to the curators was to regain the seniority of my old account. (FAG contributor #40093631). They won't budge unless I provide them with the original email address.
So... as long as they have that account it will only have 1-memorial in it, as I have taken managerial possession of 46 of the 47 of my original memorials.

I have come across so many Memorial Managers who are the "Find-a-Grave by the book Nazi Managers". Who will not link or add a memorial for anyone not buried in a Cemetery.

To those Managers I say, Shame on YOU!!!

I had an aunt who had past away and was cremated. She wanted her ashes to be spread in the same area as her husband's from years past. Which meant she was NOT buried in a cemetery. I and other family members cherish my Aunt, So I made a Memorial in her honor. After all, that is the ultimate purpose of Find A Grave, to memorialize your Loved Ones!! That she is not lost from future generations who may wonder what became of her.

The same goes for two of my Great Uncle's. One Died in France, (WWII) with no remains to bury. The other in "battle of Midway", body lost at Sea!!! They are not buried in a Cemetery, But I made memorials for them on Find A Grave so they would be remembered!!

One last thing.... Find A Grave Website is the absolute Bomb for genealogy research.
