The community of family history buffs has been welcoming and so helpful over the 30+ years I've been researching family legends. I'd be honored to return the favor. If you have comments or notice errors, do not hesitate to contact me with your suggestions.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO DECENDANTS OF WILLIAM CERRENNER:
For 30 years, I've been chasing a family legend that a direct ancestor, John J. Curtin served in the Union Army. This has turned out to be incorrect, however, William Cerrenner, the brother of Curtin's son-in-law, Charles Zerrenner, did indeed serve in the Indiana Infantry. William Cerrenner's story has been well documented in his pension file and in newspaper interviews.
Unfortunately, there is no grave marker in the Van Liew Cemetery (North Brunswick, NJ) where Cerrenner is buried. Direct descendants of William Cerrenner are eligible to apply for a marker from the Veterans Administration. I would be honored to share all of the documentation I have collected to enable his descendants to add a memorial.
