I believe by adding each person to findagrave.com I am keeping their memory alive. Each one of these people was a son or daughter, wife, husband, sister or brother. Someone cared about them. My list of people added is small because they are primarily family or people I have known in my lifetime. I have traveled to gravesites on private property in Mississippi and New York State where the headstones were hand made out of concrete with just a name carved on them, covered in briars and up to my waist in weeds, just to get a picture and honor my ancestors.
