I became interested in genealogy as a small child because I wanted to know who those people were that were buried in the cemetery across the road from the house I grew up in. I thought that this site was a great idea for true genealogist (and still do) but I have realized that you are just going to run into arrogance and greed, no matter where you go.
I have no interest in playing the numbers game. I only asked for immediate family member memorials. I believe grandfather and sibling outrank cousin or whatever they might call themselves.
I will continue to use the site for research, but plan to keep memorials to a minimum and/or transfer them to a close family member. I'm just too old to deal with all the drama!
I noticed most people don't use their real names, so I decided to follow suit and remove my real name also.
