Bio

Born in Fort Lauderdale., FL . My father , Theodore Halquist was Swedish & my Mom, Jane McCosh Scottish. My father's mother, Audrey Coyle, was English/ French and my Mom's mother's maiden name is Allfree. Have been researching my ancestory for a few years and did not want to visit Sweden till I found out where we were from really. I had been to Scotland & England w/my Mom, but her side of family came to USA in late 1700's or early 1800's. My father's side came from Humla, Sweden area in late 1800's. A relative found me in 2019 from doing his ancestry. Our great grandfathers, type thing, were cousins. he has sent me info on my family from Sweden and am very excited to visit in 2021 or 2022. My great grandfather, Theodore Axel Halquist's wife was also from Sweden. Jennie Carlson and am trying to see where in Sweden she came from though they met in the USA. Apparently, they went back to Sweden and married, but returned to USA. I find it all very, very fascinating & am sorry my Dad was not around to see what I have found. He knew his mother's family way back when in PA, were Mennonites apparently and found that very interesting. Souder was my Dad's Mom's mothers last name. Lived in Souderton, PA., I think, in early 1800's maybe or earlier. I almost went to Souderton in 2016 while my daughter Dorothy Lauren was at college at Univ.of the Arts in Philly, but plans chg'd & never gpot there, but still hope to one day. I have also found many relatives came from Iowa & some from Canada, but all from Europe originally. Wow...yay for the USA & everywhere else in the world. WE are all one big melting pot now from all over.
