Bio

My name is Penny Peterson Taylor. I was born and raised in the community of Milton. I have very deep roots in the Morgan Valley where many of my ancestors helped settle. Among some of the pioneer names were Anders Nielsen, Matilda Nielsen Peterson, Baltazar Peterson. My grandfather married into the Malan family and also brought and interesting family originating from Italy. My mother's family came from England and settled in the Coalville area working as miners. Many of the family members worked at the Devil's Slide Cement plant. My spouses' family also came from England and were miners in the Tintic region and were also early settlers in the Henefer Valley.
My passion has been history and researching history, photos and stories about my ancestors. I have recently become a volunteer historian for the Milton Cemetery and I am documenting the burials online to assist in accessing family information. I often visit the Milton Pioneer Cemetery and also occasionally stop by the Morgan, North Morgan, Coalville, and Hoytsville Cemetery as well.
My direct ancestral line is Taylor/Brooks (paternal) Peterson/Sommers (maternal) family names are also Brewer, Brown, Britton, Ellingford, Malan, Wilson, Nielsen, Rose, Porter, Steadman and many others.
If you are a family member and would like to transfer, edit, or make suggestions; please contact me. I would also like to make updates to any bios.
