Find a Grave ID

Bio

I started taking photos of graves at my local cemetery after finding grave photos useful when researching my own family's history on Ancestry.

Currently taking photos primarily at Nudgee Cemetery in Brisbane, QLD, Australia.

Most memorial records at my local cemeteries have already been added on find-a-grave by other people so I'm only adding new memorials whenever I have a photo of a headstone that I haven't been able to find a memorial listing for (usually after a fairly good search of the cemetery's records).

Happy to take suggestions for edits on any of the memorials I've added, or to remove a photo if I've incorrectly assigned one to a memorial.

My tips for good photos (in Brisbane, Australia) is to go after there's been some rain when the grass is nice and green. Also consider going on a day that's overcast but bright - you wont have to compete with shadows on dark headstones and glare on the newer shiny headstones.

Always open to tricks for getting better photos in general and particularly of older/aged headstones.
