We are a group of 30 cousins who are related to the same 3 sets of commons ancestors. Due to a courthouse fire in 1890 in Franklin County, Alabama which destroyed all records, we are putting the family back together one descendant at a time using DNA. We live in multiple states but get together often for family events, cemetery crawls, courthouse Treasure Hunts and library Hide & Seek & always amazing meals with family & fellowship. Even some Elvis Birthplace events thrown in for good measure. C'mon. We are constantly on the phone going over recent finds and who is the newest potential DNA subject. Our DNA is managed by our cousin, StonzNBonz, who also collaborates/works DNA with another 20-30 close relatives. She can identify Buchanan and Long DNA matches with her eyes closed

•NOTE: Any FindAGrave requests are based solely the kits Stonz manages exclusively, not ones she collaborates on. This could also include our family lines not related to the surnames above or her own. Additionally all requests will be within FindAGrave guidelines, unless otherwise specifically stated in the request (Ex: someone who manages 150k memorials, but are not related to the Memorial and one of us are. We'll ask with that in mind if outside the guidelines & state it in the request. It's up to the manager to accept or decline the request). We always give the information upfront. To protect our identities, we don't give our names and use Stonz' name here but our kits are also tied to her on Ancestry as Manager (if you're a dna member, and part of the family within range of dna, you can check that way).

Due to our collective DNA & tireless work over the last 6 yrs specifically using DNA (30 yrs on paper), we now have the largest & most accurately detailed paper trail and combined DNA tree on the 3 MRCA families listed above-NOT that this was ever our goal. Is it complete? No! It will always be a WIP. But we've HAD to work this way in order to break brickwalls and connect the entire family lines together. Using these collective resources, we have:
• (we believe) the eldest *generations* of DNA to William/Malissa at 2g grandchildren. Most come in starting at 3g on.
For John R we do have 2g but this is a bit more common in a few of his children's descendants. *we do collaborate with a Great Grandchild of John R.*
•identified multiple siblings who were once misplaced in other unknown counties.
•We found William and Malissa after they left Franklin Co and moved to Pontotoc Co.
•we have identified all of William/Malissa's children and most of their lives after they left the nests.
•We are close to proving a once theory-only for Malissa's surname. 2 yrs in the works.
•We've identified John R's paternal lineage a few generations back, confirmed using ydna atDNA. Close to identifying his father.
•We're close to making a huge breakthrough on William Buchanan's paternal lineage having partnered with multiple ydna matches, some who include atDNA matches, identified the (likely) part of Scotland his paternal line originates as well as confirmed the subclave part of clan our Buchanans belong.
•We have the male lines' haplogroups and Catharine and Sarah's maternal lines haplos.
•The male Carroll line is a WIP as the BigY threw us a surprise result. So that is a WIP.

️Lastly and most importantly, we are protective of our personal privacy, especially after a recent breach of protocol by one Ancestry/FG member who continues to stalk our LIVING family, going on 2 yrs now. Remember people, first learn how to do genealogy PROPERLY and learn the basics of DNA before you run off swearing you're related to every single member of Ancestry just bc you have the same (unrelated) surname in a DNA list of 100,000 people with ZERO MRCA's so you INVENT them! 🫣 MOVING on…️
