Searching for family!

I am related to many of the memorials I maintain by blood, marriage or adoption although I do maintain the memorials of others to whom I am not related.

Find A Grave guidelines say I have to transfer certain memorials. All others I can transfer if I so choose. Thus, the guidelines do not stop me from transferring any memorial.

I am more than willing to work with you if I maintain the memorial of someone who is more closely related to you than me or who is not related to me at all but is related to you. I also understand that some of the contributors do not respond and that's frustrating. Family is important and I understand this. If the person is unknown to me it stands to reason you can put more pieces together than I can as you'll likely have dates, places, deceased family info etc., to update the memorial account with and that's important too.

Some contributors will tell you that if you don't have the final resting place for a person that you should not enter them on Find-A-Grave as FAGs purpose is to show the final resting place. This site is more than just that, or so I believe, and I have found that by entering what you have, this helps to complete the puzzle. I have had information for memorials that others did not have and vice versa. I have the resting place but not the DOB or DOD, or I have the DOB or DOD and not the resting place. Working together we can complete these memorials which makes for a better FAG database...and helps researchers around the world.
