I write this because the likelihood of it being read is slim ;-), it was unexpected popup when I was trying to add some information... and it amuses me to do so... it is this afternoons project, Plus I would like to see if I can max out the allowed number of characters...

Why do we do what we do and why did I become a member of Find A Grave? In the beginning to correct what I saw were errors, it matured into bringing family together, in life no one should be alone, in death no one should be alone.

Who and what am I? we are the sum of our parts and defined by our actions, who we are, this question best summed up by other's as we are many things to many people. I can only help by defining some of who and what made me into who I am. To some I am "Uncle Ian", to my father "Ian Charles", other's "Only Ian", and some fondly some refer to me as "F*ckup". I answer to all, specially when I am being fed.

Born and raised to Noland William Boss and Bernice Kathleen Boss nee Heighton in Yellowknife NWT Canada. Middle of the pack, three of six, by most viewed as stubborn and willful.

I come from good people.

To make me you need to make my father, let's start with my father's father William Charles, land rich money poor, died three years before I was born. According to family lore donated land for churches to be built, never went to church himself. William Charles children were home schooled in the Bible (we found some of them when packing up my parents belongings), when William Charles children turned eighteen they were made to join a church of their choice.

Noland William, my father was home schooled for the most part, his formal education stopped at thirteen when he was kicked in the face by a horse. His father William Charles immediately got rid of the horses and the farm went mechanized, dad never had a formal school after that, everything was self taught. If ever you see a sample of his writing it is a perfect flowing 8 point font without error. Growing up, when 7th Day Advent's , Mormon's and the like would come to the door they were invited in for coffee, tea, cake and lesson's from the Bible. Some were only brought to visit my father so that they could learn who they couldn't covert. My father never smoked nor knowing had a drink in his life. My Auntie Vi said he would carry carry a drink around with him all night at socials and they would find it still full behind a door in the morning, I know dad had a drink because we knew the punch was loaded, he didn't.

Mom? was much younger than my father, a wonderful soul, before she married my father, smoked, and drank. Her father Ross a very interesting character with what may be a checkered past. Dad's sister Auntie Vi said my mother was a fancy cook because she used more spices that salt and pepper. Mom's hobby was making wedding cakes, traditional cakes with almond paste, and crafted icing flowers, that last generations if stored properly, yes this means they are seeped in rum or whiskey... She was not a prude, while she married my father she didn't adhere to everything he followed.

Fruit far from the tree.... deleted..., but let me remind you my parents were much better people than I am.

I live on the lake, Tagish Yukon Canada, because for me there is no other place I wish to be at this time.

By trade I am a Journeyman Electrician, have been a Timberman, Bartender, Bouncer, Maintenance Planner and more.

It might surprise some, but Yellowknife provided one of the best educational experiences in Canada in the years I was growing up. Don't look at me, look at others from Yellowknife. In modern times I probably never would have graduated High School. First time I got the strap for fighting was first week of Grade 1, the strap continued multiple times every year until my mother made them stop in Grade 9 because it wasn't working, not that I stopped getting into altercations, Because I did not get along well with others when I was about 8 there was a clinical assessment which basically determined I was bored, In Grade 11 I had the second worst attendance record, that honor was held by a valedictorian, swimming, figure skater competing girl, who vacationed with her parents in Hawaii.

When 15 I got a summer job working for a float base, 7 days a week, Spring till Fall, sunrise till sometimes after sunset, making more per month than my father. Real work not play, I would show up before sunrise, pump out floats, clean and fuel aircraft, load 55 gallon drums of fuel into planes by myself. Worked for the same company when I was 16 the following year. When 15 I was a pilots pet, I would go on flights, work related or not, as I was at work 7 days a weeks on weekends I would answer the phone, book flights etcetera, long and short when 15 the pilots took me to the bar and one of the clients at seasons end wined and dined me at the best places in town. So at 15 I was a mature youth, regular in the bars, never Id'ed, my peer group was an older group with all that that implies.

Not tall, shorter every year, slightly over weight, grey and sparse of hair, still have most of my teeth, no tattoos. At my old work, a couple of the girls called me "Grumpy 2", "Grumpy 2" because some else already had "Grumpy 1". What I might find amusing others may not, you do not need to smile nor laugh when happy nor cry when sad. Dry, slightly morbid sense of humor, like and get Gary Larson's "Far Side" cartoons, like Monty Python... do not like Simpson's or South Park. Neither a recluse or socially out going. Read, used to play chess fairly well, play eight ball pool not poorly. Not a fan of sports. Played soccer in school, we won a cup, never scored a goal, my talent was being a brute taking the ball away and passing it to someone who could score goals. I played softball on company teams, left field, my talent was showing up so we didn't default, making bases because I chopped the ball rather than hitting it for hard grounders, the best games I ever played were subbing into other teams who were short players. Will watch Rugby mainly for the haka's, Australian Rules Football because just a referee's finger wagging stops altercations, Women's Beach Ball, "say no more" and when it was on, Honey Wrestling from Eastern Europe. No political or religious affiliations. I vote to remove people from office when I don't think they represent what I think is right. I have given and done free work for churches because they support the people who believe in them. I believe in social justice and equity for all none in front of another to make them more equal.

Say no more, or until another time?
