Recently received a box of old letters from 1910-1920s and old photographs from same era that once belonged to my paternal grandmother Cleo Rudd Yoakum. This sparked my interest to investigate my ancestors, find grave sites, place old photographs of folks in the photos on their find a grave memorials, etc. Family on my father's side include Yoakum, Rudd, Sparks, Bishop, Wren, Talley, Loftis; on my other's side: Magill, Maxwell, Barnett, and Roberts. Rudd's mostly lived in Goldwaite and Sweetwater, TX; Bishop's in Comanche, TX; Yoakum's in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Texas. Much interest centers around a small farming community called Palava, Texas. All that is left of Palava are a cemetery and a couple of old buildings. Most families moved to Sweetwater before WWII.
