Everyone's life has value. Everyone should be remembered.

"In all of us there is a hunger, marrow-deep, to know our heritage - to know who we are and where we have come from. Without this enriching knowledge, there is a hollow yearning. No matter what our attainments in life, there is still a vacuum, an emptiness, and the most disquieting loneliness. " ~ Alex Haley, author of "Roots"

I live in central Alabama. My paternal family is strong from this region and information is easily obtained and understood. Family names from that line are Hilyer, Oldham, Kirkland, Blow, Stagner, Maddox, Spearman, Strickland, Boykin, Mullins, Hill, Moore, Roper, Wadsworth, Herring, Nash, Benton, Benson, Cummings, Barrett, Vaughan, Lawrence, Lawson, Fountain, Church, Orr, Nobles, Ray, Morrison, Bales, Pettus, Adams and Carter. Currently, I have a particular interest in the Buchanan, May and Pace lines. My maternal family is from the Northeast and I have very little information on them. Through that line I am 3rd generation American so many records are overseas. Some names from that line are Torkewitz, Nunn, Plasket, Fisher, West, Beeby, Stamper, Watson, Midcos, Onorato and Raucci. I am open and eager to networking, learning, helping and otherwise communicating with others to facilitate a love of genealogy so that information is preserved and expanded.

*My 1st cousin was placed for adoption in Dade county, Florida (abt 1965). If you think you may be this person, or know who this person is, or have ANY INFO regarding this event (or if you're any other family who has been displaced) PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE to contact me if you so desire! I look forward to the day my scattered family is known to me!

**If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to maintain memorials, please transfer your records to someone who has an active account and are willing to take over management of the memorials. I am one of many willing to take over records. This will preserve original memorials and will help reduce duplicates.

***I give my permission for any and all photos I've submitted to be used by the family and friends of their loved ones. This includes my personal family photos as well as photos I've submitted of gravesites, cemeteries and memorials. My belief is that the more family and friends that have the photos, the greater the chance these precious items will survive for posterity. I've tried to give as much info as I could think of at the time of submission. If there are any questions about the photos such as subjects, occasion, location and dates, etc, please feel free to ask. I may have come across further info about the pictures that I didn't know at the time of submission.
