Theressa Mitilda Lambertus, daughter of David B. and Mary Ann (Denning) Klinefelter, was born July 21, 1896, in Mazon, Illinois. She attended country school in Illinois.
Theressa and her family moved to Milford when she was sixteen years old.
Theressa married Otto W. Lambertus on June 5, 1917, in Milford, lowa. To this union six children were born. Theressa and Otto farmed near Fostoria. They later moved to Harris, lowa and then to Emmetsburg on February 12, 1951.
Theressa was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Emmetsburg and was active in the Ladies Aid when she was able. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. Theressa loved her family and the church.
Theressa died Tuesday, August 29, 1995, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, lowa, at the age of
99. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Virgil; three brothers; a grandson, Richard Lambertus; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Lambertus. She is survived by her children, Marian Walstrom of Greenville, IA, Myrtle Boddicker of Vinton, IA, Leanna Hass of Lake Park, IA, John H. Lambertus of Emmetsburg, lA and Lester Lambertus of Emmetsburg, lA; twenty four grandchildren; fifty two great grandchildren; thirteen great great grandchildren; a sister, Vera Moreland of Brownwood, TX; as well as many other relatives and friends.
