Looking For History, and Researching My Family, My Husbands Family...and friends in which I have lost...

I was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania in Blair County. I am the daughter of the late William H. "Billy" Himes Jr. and Beverley Ann (Bulman)Himes.

Since becoming a born again Christian I now know that Death is the way to Heaven, the dwelling place of Lord and the destination of His children, and by accepting Christ into our hearts we will then enter Kingdom of Heaven and see our loved ones once again and have everlasting life, and to me that's comforting and something I look forward to.
Each day when I wake up, I thank God for being able to walk through the cemeteries and learn more about those who have gone before me. Though sometimes I'm unable to visit, I'm thankful for this site to visit people and research.
To me a Cemetery is NOT the final resting place of our loved ones but an ephemeral repository of their remains. The REAL Cemetery however, is somewhere deep in our heart, where we can always visit them at any time of the day, talk about some unforgettable summers, and memories or cry in solitude as if they were always there for us to stay. And should our time come, when we can no longer see the light of the day, some people dear and close to us will build a cemetery in their hearts. They will let us stay for a while or perhaps longer, as long as they continue to remember, but it does not matter anymore. What is comforting to know, no matter how tragic or tranquil our death may be, somewhere somehow someone will always build a serene place for us to stay....until the day comes and we can all join each other in Heaven.
John 3:16
