Bio

Actively working to update Find A Grave memorials from my Ancestry family tree. I will gladly accept memorial management for anyone in my tree. Detailed memorials have greatly enhanced my research so I continually add back what I have found to assist others. Many of my paternal ancestors arrived in McHenry County, Illinois in the 1840's so I have a deep interest in Hebron, Greenwood & Woodstock cemeteries, as well as the surrounding counties. The family names are: Douglass, Boughton, Phillips, Kirk, Parker, Hawley, Stone, Hosford, Benedict, Gilbert & Begun. These families mostly have their beginnings in the Puritan migration to New England. My 11th GGF Francis Cooke arrived on the Mayflower. I have documented 15 GGFs who served in the New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut or Rhode Island militias or the Continental Army during the American Revolution. On my maternal side, much of the immigration came in the late 1800's from Germany & Denmark, to settle in Wisconsin. The family names are: Riemer, Mikkelsen, Zimdars, Sievertsen, Hoppe, Sell, Sorensen & Petersen.
