I stumbled upon find a grave after taking a 23 and me dna test where I later found out who my biological father was. My life growing up I always knew I was not biologically a Reagan. My mother was married at my conception while going through a divorce which in 1987, Texas law then I had to take the last name of the man she was married to. I have since thankfully found and reunited with my father. I am biologically Tabetha Marie Gilley.
I am learning a lot about both sides of my close and distant family.
I have found that there is many spaces in my family on both sides. Which at times has made it tough to continue linking family. However, both of my parents are still living so I am able to trace a great deal. I recently flew blind and was able to find my paternal grandmothers grave out in Electra with the help of some underinformed information here with at least a rough area and name to be able to search over 1000 headstones.
My father challenged me and told me without him taking me out there I would never find her grave. Little did he expect with 2 settle clues like " There used to be a oil pump by her grave" and "There was a tree close by that burnt down many years back" I was able to walk and walk and within about an hours time.... I found my grandmothers grave!
I am just looking to link some more of my relatives and update some information. Just enjoy doing this in my spare time.
My Maternal family I am kin to the last names of Hopkins, Bailey, McCoy, Pounds, Bean, Aulds, Linder, and Walker. All from Texas areas
My Paternal family I am kin to the last names of Gilley, Parker, Dozier, Poe, Acrey, and Booth. Most of Texas but also other states such as California (Gilley). Booth by marriage and children from TN.
