When multiple people share a marker, each one gets a memorial. In many cases, I create the memorial for the second person and request a photo. Find A Grave's Terms of Service allow me to copy someone else's photo and repost it as my own. I am not a fan of claiming someone's efforts as my own. It is my understanding that in prior years, admins have been willing to copy and properly credit photos, but they are apparently unable or unwilling to do that these days. If I have copied and reposted your photo, and you would rather do it yourself, drop me a line and I will gladly remove mine. If I have created a cremation and you find that the person has since been interred, inurned or had a cenotaph set, simply submit the for merging.

If you are adding portraits to a memorial, please take half a second and designate it as 'person'. The default is 'grave'. When photo volunteers go out to shoot and photos are mis-tagged, it makes the search feature useless.
