Bio

My 98 year old mother asked me to research the family tree on her mother's side when I retired and had more time to devote to this. I have to work at the library, having no internet at home so it has been a little slower than I hoped. The families I am looking for are Jorgensen, Madsen, Anderson, Wint(h)er. I am also trying to find my father's mother, Edna Mae Shufelt Pierce, who left my father and his two brothers when they were about 7, 5 and 3 years old. They were sent to an orphanage in Hartford, Connecticut until family members took them in. I have had no success in finding anything after a 1920 census when she and my grandfather were still together and before my uncle Stuart was born. She was born in Vermont.
