I enjoy genealogy and search on the surnames generally related to: Marlow, Ritland, Prochaska, Reinhardt, Olson (early Spokane, Bothell and Monroe WA), Norwegian genealogy into Rogaland and Ostfold. I have a much deeper list of surnames and farms (Norway) in my research of course. DNA on Ancestry has opened up a different aspect of genealogy for me in my sleuthing, I imagine in years to come that aspect will become even more interesting.

My biggest puzzle I am working on currently is the Allen/Hawks question. My 2xgrandfather Nelson Allen Hawks --- Stephen Allen Hawks -- William Hawks? But what did Nelson do with his first wife, Mary H Walker (did she die around the Chicago fire time?). Why did he change to his middle name of Allen? And why am I not finding any DNA connections with Stephen Allen Hawks siblings: Nelson Page Hawks and Granville Hawks (Granville did not have any issue) but I do with Harriet Hawks and Elizabeth Hawks? Maybe the descendants do not have trees yet?

One interesting note that I can't upload to Ancestry because of the size limitation, at Hawks Inn in Delafield there is a page dedicated to the writings/remembrances of Nelson Page Hawks (Stephen Allen Hawks brother) as written by Nelson Crocker Hawks, son. It takes a while to download, I recommend using a computer. A family tree is included but I don't believe the line for the Hawks is proven. The Crocker line goes up through the another Hawks line that is James Hawks that is the Winthrop group. Again, I don't know if that is proven. If that line is true however, I believe I found where the name "Page" comes from and I don't believe it comes from "Elisabeth Page" that was a possibility that my 3xgrandfather Stephen's father "William Hawks" was married to.
