Searching for relatives and family history.

My mother was orphaned as a young girl and relocated, so all family ties and history were lost. She recently passed and now the rest is gone.

Paternal family is Zlokich-kita from Vela Luka, Korcula, Croatia.
Paternal Grandmother was Suryan-barufa, also of Vela Luka.
Maternal Gavranich-sijun family of Blato, Korcula, Croatia.

My own father passed away when I was a young girl, so we have little information on him. I began researching our heritage nearly 20 years ago for my mother to realize she did have an extended family and roots. My 4 children also need to know where they came from.

The big picture is important. As a young woman, my mom had grandparents alive in Vela Luka but with both parents dead for years, she viewed her life as being alone. She had no idea who her grandparents were or that they were still alive for several more years. Plus all of her Croatian relatives. I simply don't want that LACK of history to repeat.
