Bio

I was born in March 1946 on the leading edge of the Baby Boomer generation (1946-1964). I grew up on a farm in Georgia north of Atlanta and I have always been interested in history, especially family history, after learning about my family as a young boy and teenager. I have researched off and on since 2010. I have been on Find a Grave since June 2017 and an active subscriber on Ancestry since January 2019. Before that I did all my ancestry research the old fashioned way by talking to my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. I use Ancestry and Find a Grave for my research and Family Tree Maker to publish my family story. I graduated from Auburn University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Aviation Administration degree and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAF. My first USAF assignment was an Academic Assignment and I once again graduated from Auburn with a Master of Business Administration degree. I entered active duty in 1971 leading to flight training and operational assignments in England, Germany, Valdosta Georgia, Cairo Egypt and Las Vegas Nevada. I served 24 years in the Air Force flying mostly the F-4 fighter with a short tour in the F-16 followed by staff level assignments until retirement. Entering civilian life, I worked for 10 years as an independent contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy as an Emergency Actions Officer for the National Nuclear Security Agency at their Nevada Operations Office and at the Nevada Test Site. I have formed close connections with several distant cousins, and we all share information. I am open to all suggestions and will readily offer my assistance for any requests for help.
