I happened upon this site accidentally. My dad is currently living in a small town in North Carolina. He calls on a regular basis to tell me his newest adventures. I should mention that both of my parents have struggled with addiction for the duration of Mt life so some of dad's stories are a little unrealistic. However, he began telling me about one of his trips to "church". (He walks in the woods to feel closer to his god.) He stumbled into a graveyard in the middle of the woods. Just a small iron gate was left standing after what looked like years of neglect. He began to remove brush and other debris from the tops of historic grave markers. He doesn't use computers and asked me to do some research on the names he had found. I don't have a deep tie to the history of my family and I wish I did. So I joined this site in hopes of educating current members of the family who are laid to rest in this randomly placed cemtery. My hopes are to visit this resting ground soon and take as many photos as possible. Maybe someone will get something from the research I'll be doing. Feel free to ask questions or share tips :) Thanks guys.
