I am the oldest daughter of Elizabeth "Bettye" Rawland Turner and Horace Otis "Hank" Turner. My grandparents were Doris Murray Rawland and William Munn Rawland, whom I nicknamed "Pop", being the oldest grandchild. Though I was born and grew up in Austin, I spent many happy childhood days and nights at my grandparents' home at 1000 Westhill Drive in Cleburne. My family planned to build a home on that street and we lived in Cleburne during my 8th grade year of school. But my dad missed playing golf in Austin and we returned there. I am an RN, having graduated from UT Austin in 1979. All of my family is buried at Rosehill Cemetery in Cleburne.
