Born and reared in Roberts, Illinois, we would summer with our Grandmother whose farm was on the border between Franklin County and Jefferson County Illinois. She kept us busy by taking us to the local cemeteries and caring for the cemetery and individual family graves. My mother was born in Steeleville and grew up in Red Bud Illinois. I am familiar with the Lutheran and Steeleville City Cemetery in the area. I love visiting old cemeteries and loved the stories my grandmothers would tell us on these visits.
