Bio

I was born in Marion, NC in 1949 to Ed Talmadge Lentz and Helen Marjorie Duckett. My grandfather George Martin Lentz lived from 1869 until 1954 in Marion and Nebo North Carolina. He was once employed by the Duke family as supervisor of the 'pond clearing crew' during the construction of Lake James from 1916 until completion in 1923. My great grandfather John (Johann) Lentz (1831-1908) was the first of my family to immigrate to America from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany in August 1853. He was married to my great grandmother Catherine (Catarina) Reel (1835-1872) who was also from Baden-Wurttemberg. They were married in 1855 in Fairfax, Virginia. They later lived in Old Fort and Marion, North Carolina. John is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Marion.
