I am the keeper of the stories. Raised by my grandparents and great-grandmother (who was born in 1885), I grew up surrounded by the stories of my ancestors. In turn, I've passed that love on to my kids. My oldest son completed his Eagle Project in the New Pennsylvania Cemetery in Gretna, NE, spending more than 200 hours leveling stones and cleaning them. My daughter completed her Girl Scout Gold award in the same cemetery, creating a directory and updating many online sources. After spending so much time in New Pennsylvania, we feel like those interred there are family.
