My name is Michael Newell Wright Sr., the son of Newell Wright and Betty Joyce May-Wright of Dunlap, Sequatchie, Tennessee, USA. I am the husband of Gayla Maudette Bivens-Wright, the daughter of Elden Bannister Bivens and Maude Bernice Finger-Bivens. I have lived and attended school in almost every state of the Union. I did however, manage to graduate from Sequatchie County High School after dropping out of school for a year. After High School, I joined the United States Navy for a three year venture. I came home four months before my contract because my father Newell suffered a heart attack leaving me to support the family. I did finish my tour of the Navy at the training center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Shortly after my fathers recovery, I attended Hiwassee College where I graduated in 1981. There I met my wife Gayla. We were married April 02, 1983 in Friendsville, Tennessee at Friendsville First Baptist Church. Together we raised our three children; Chelsey Nicole, Michael Newell, II and Heather Michelle Wright. I later graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Arts in Health and Physical Education. It was in the winter of 1996 while in my graduate studies at TTU, that I got the call of my parents fatal car crash. My mother Betty, was killed instantly but dad suffered sever brain injuries which he was not able to recover from. He died in our Friendsville home on February 10, almost a year later. I am now retired from teaching and coaching and resettled in my home town of Dunlap, Tennessee, where I now teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
